Since September is National Self-Improvement Month, we’ve discussed and sent out a lot of valuable content regarding bettering ourselves in the space of being more productive and practicing better time management skills, however, we haven’t touched on improving much in our mental space. So, let’s get into meditation and how it can benefit us in improving our mental to gain clarity and increase focus. Because let’s be honest, that is apart of our self-improvement journey as well.

According to Columbia University Medical Center researchers, relaxing during meditation alters the structure and function of the brain, lowering stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. Meditation can also boost concentration and focus while learning, as well as lengthen the attention span and memory. Meditation can also help clear brain fog. When we meditate, we quiet the mind and reduce the constant stream of thoughts that can impair our ability to think clearly. We also lessen the signs of stress, worry, and sadness, three of the most prevalent triggers of mental confusion and haziness. Therefore, helping with your self-improvement, allowing you to gain better clarity on your goals, and being able to focus better overall.
